Nagarahole Wildfire Raises alarm in Coorg

The wildfire at Nagarahole Forest reserve in Coorg has become a great challenge to the forest officials who are fighting to bring down the fire. Forest Officer Devaraj and his team are working day and night to bring the fire under control. Forest Minister C.P. Yogeshwar, inspected the affected areas and estimates that around of 510 hectares of forest has been destroyed in the fire.

All efforts are being made by the Forest officials and also the nearby villagers to control the wildfire but the current weather condition is making the situation more worse as the summer heat and hot wind increase spreading of fire. There was a similar wildfire in Coorg in 1992 which left a devastating effect on Coorg's forests.
