Kakkabe in Coorg - A mix of history, granduer and scenic beauty

Me and four of my friends planned to spend our weekend somewhere in
Coorg, after a long discussion we decided to trek Thadiyandamol peak at Coorg. Tadiyandamol peak is the tallest peak in Coorg district and second tallest peak in Karnataka. Thadiyandamol peak is at Kakkabe and it’sabout 125kms from Mysore and about 38kms from Madikeri Coorg District's main city. Kakkabe a very small town at the bottom of Thadiyandamol peak at coorg district. Kakkabe is famous for its historical and spectacular view. One of the important place is Igguthappa temple also called Padi Igguthappa temple dedicated to Lord Subramanya or god of rain. This temple was built by Lingarajendra in the year 1810. The historical Nalknad Palace is also located in kakkabe. We also found ancestral homes which are also called as Iyne(Aine) Mane by the kodava’s it is said to be 250 years old architectural building.

We were astonished by the pleasant scenic beauty of the peak after a trek of about a 6kms nearly 1746 meters height above the sea level and we reached the top of Coorg’s tallest peak, even we were tired we needed to conquer the tallest peak of Coorg and view the pleasant view and scenic beauty . This peak is a heaven for those people seeking mountain climbing and trekking. At last we finished our quest to Thadiyandamol Peak which was indeed a mind blowing experience of a lifetime.
